How to convert images to PDF
On this page the converter is set up to merge everything you add into a single PDF document.
-
1
Add your images
Select photos, scans or screenshots, or a ZIP archive of images. They appear in the order your device lists them (usually alphabetical).
-
2
Put the pages in order
Drag thumbnails to reorder them, rotate photos taken sideways and delete any you don't want in the final document.
-
3
Choose page settings
In Export & Settings → PDF, pick the paper size, orientation, margins, how images fit the page and the compression level.
-
4
Download your PDF
Click Download PDF. Each image becomes one page of a single, shareable PDF file.
PDF settings explained
The defaults work well for most people, but these options let you produce exactly the document you need.
Paper size
Original makes each page the same size as its image. A4 and US Letter give a uniform, print-ready document.
Orientation
Auto uses landscape pages for wide images and portrait pages for tall ones. You can also force all pages to portrait or landscape.
Margins
Add a white border around each image: none, small (15 pt), medium (30 pt) or large (50 pt). Margins help when the PDF will be printed.
Image fit
Contain shows the whole image, Cover fills the page and may crop the edges, and Stretch fills the page exactly.
Compression
Higher compression makes a smaller PDF that is easier to email; lower compression (or none) keeps the most detail.
Supported images
JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and SVG, plus ZIP or CBZ archives containing images. You can mix in existing PDFs too.
Common reasons to combine images into a PDF
- Submitting documents online. Application portals often ask for one PDF containing ID cards, certificates or receipts photographed on a phone.
- Sharing notes and homework. Turn photos of handwritten pages into a single file that teachers or classmates can scroll through.
- Expense reports. Collect receipt photos into one PDF for your accountant or finance team.
- Portfolios and catalogues. Present artwork, product photos or designs as a tidy document.
Good to know
- Pages in the PDF are images, so the text in them is not searchable or selectable. Use OCR software afterwards if you need searchable text.
- If your browser cannot open a particular format (for example TIFF, or HEIC on some browsers), convert it to JPG or PNG first.
- Very large photos are scaled down to a maximum of 2560 pixels on their longest side to keep memory use under control. That's still sharp enough for A4 or Letter printing.
- Want separate PDFs instead of one? Choose Separate PDFs in Export & Settings.
Image to PDF: frequently asked questions
Can I combine multiple images into one PDF?
Yes, that is exactly what this page does. Add as many images as you like, arrange them, and download a single PDF with one image per page.
How do I make the PDF file smaller?
Increase the Compression setting in Export & Settings. Medium compression is a good balance; high compression produces the smallest files, which is useful for email attachments and upload limits.
Can I add images to an existing PDF?
Yes. Add the PDF and the images together, arrange the pages and export a merged PDF. Note that the existing PDF's pages are converted to images in the process, so their text will no longer be selectable.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is built by your browser on your own device. Your images are never transmitted to MyImageNinja or any third party.
